The Taiwan authority's rejection of such a principle constitutes the ultimate cause for the delayed alleviation in cross-Straits relations, Zhang said in response to a relevant question. "China hopes that the Taiwan authorities will clearly accept the 'one-China' principle at an early date, so as to be conducive to the development of the cross-Straits relations, as well as the social stability and economic development in Taiwan," she said. |
