Indonesian Military Launches Major Reshuffle

The Indonesian Military (TNI) announced on Tuesday a major reshuffle involving 111 personnel in the Army, the Navy and the Air Force.

A press release issued by the TNI headquarters said the reshuffle also included commanders of four regional military commands, namely the Pattimura Military Command overseeing troubled Maluku and North Maluku provinces, the Siliwangi Military Command overseeing West Java, the Sriwijaya Military Command overseeing South Sumatra and the Tanjungpura Military Command covers Kalimantan.

Commander of the Pattimura Military Command Maj. Gen. I Made Yasa was replaced by Brig. Gen. Mustopo, Commander of the Siliwangi Military Command Maj. Gen. Zainuri Hasyim was replaced by Brig. Gen. Darsono, Commander of the Sriwijaya Military Command Maj. Gen. Sutardjo was replaced by Maj. Gen. Sudibyo Tjipto Negoro and Commander of the Tanjungpura Military Command Maj. Gen. Djoko Besariman was replaced by Maj. Gen. Hadi Waluyo.

Spokesman of the Army Brig. Gen. F.X. Bachtiar was also replaced by Brig. Gen. Ismet Herdy.

The release said that of the 111 personnel who were involved in Tuesday's reshuffle, as many as 30 personnel would enter pension time.
