Taipei to Use 'Hanyu Pinyin' Phonetic SystemMa Ying-jeau, mayor of Taipei City, said on June 15 that Taipei has decided to adopt 'Hanyu Pinyin' instead of the Pinyin in general as its Chinese phonetic system.At a tea-sipping party, Ma said, Taipei, having been arguing for more than one year over the matter, had to make a decision now by adopting the system. And the system must be the most commonly used one for Taipei is an international city.
