Chinese, ROK Provinces Sign Pact on Tourism

Jilin Province, in northeast China, and Chungchong-Bukdo, in the central part of the Republic of Korea (ROK), signed an agreement here Sunday to start friendly cooperation on developing the tourism industry.

An eight-member delegation from Chungchong-Bukdo have been visiting Changchun City, the provincial capital of Jilin, to promote tourism in the ROK area so as to attract tourists from the Chinese province.

It is the first such promotion activity by Chungchong-Bukdo, according to the ROK delegation.

Jilin is also one of the main destinations for ROK travelers going abroad. Last year, the number of tourist arrivals from the neighboring country topped 120,000.
