Over 300 Companies Discuss Promotion of Top Chinese Brands

Representatives of more than 300 famous Chinese companies gathered Sunday in Beijing to discuss how to promote top Chinese brands.

The Forum on Top Chinese Brands discussed such topics as management innovation, quality marketing and encouraging development of new brands. Officials from leading Chinese companies such as Changhong, Chunlan and Founder shared their successful experiences in fostering brand names with other participants.

"We depend on economic efficiency and quality improvement," said Pu Changcheng, vice-director of the State Administration of Quality Supervision and Quarantine (SAQSQ).

He said the top brands, passports for companies to take part in international competition, reflect the nation's economic strength. He called for joint efforts from both the government and enterprises to create more famous Chinese brands.

In recent years, the Chinese government has made efforts to promote brands, resulting in the improvement of standard of Chinese products.

According to the latest survey by the SAQSQ, the quality rating of Chinese commodities jumped from 60 percent in the 1980s to the current 85 percent.

Some electrical appliances, such as those of the Haier and Legend brands have become well-known worldwide for their quality.
