China's Top Academy for Ethnic Studies Celebrates 50th AnniversaryChinese Vice-premier Li Lanqing sent a letter of congratulation to the university, In which Li called on the university to train more students from different ethnic groups and offer more intellectual support for development in areas inhabited by minority nationalities. Li is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee. Over the past five decades, over 60,000 students of different minority nationalities have graduated from the university. A large number of the graduates have become specialists and scholars playing a major role in the development of the ethnic minority regions. |
