First CPC Committee Set up in Taiwan-Funded CompanyThe Communist Party of China (CPC) Committee of the Tianjin Ting Yi International Food Co. Ltd., a Taiwan-funded company, was set up Friday in north China's port city, Tianjin.This is the first Party Committee that has been established in a Taiwan-funded company on the mainland of China. Over 400 employees of the company participated in the founding ceremony. The chairman of the board of directors and general manager of the company, both from Taiwan, were present at the ceremony. Zhao Huijing, chairman of the board of director, said that CPC is composed of elite elements of Chinese and almost all the Party members in the company are backbones of the firm. Song Jiabao, secretary of the new Party Committee and chairman of the trade unions of the company, said it will be the starting point of the Party members in overseas-funded companies to improve enterprises efficiency and promote economic growth.
