Half Million Chinese Youth Participate in Computer Contest

A recent contest of making web pages and other computer-aided designs on the theme of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has drawn over 500,000 youngsters in China.

The contest was jointly sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, the Ministry of Information Industry and the Ministry of Culture.

Zhejiang province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and many other cities also sponsored local contests on the same theme.

The youngsters use their computers to show their love for the Communist Party and their determination to follow the CPC, said the organizers of the contest.

Over the past weeks, various activities have been held across China to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of CPC, which falls on July 1.

The Youth League organizations in east China's Jiangsu Province held classes on history of the CPC for over 100,000 young people. Veteran soldiers of the Red Army were invited to schools to give lectures on the history of the Chinese revolution.
