Xi'an to Set Base for Toshiba Refrigerators
The Changling Refrigerator Co. Ltd. in Shaanxi Province, northwest China, will produce one million Toshiba refrigerators annually within three years, making Changling a major Toshiba refrigerator provider in Asia and even the world, sources said.
The Shaanxi Changling Yellow River Group and Toshiba signed a letter of intent to produce and sell Toshiba refrigerators in China last February.
Following the signing the first production line for Toshiba refrigerators in China was built at a cost of 279 million yuan (33. 61 million U.S. dollars) in the Xi'an High-tech Development Zone, located in the provincial capital.
At present, the production base has produced 50,000 Toshiba refrigerators, which have been launched on the Chinese market.
According to the bilateral cooperation plan, the China base will produce one million Toshiba refrigerators on yearly basis within three years from now.
