Maritime Law Enforcement Starts in East China Sea
A maritime law enforcement campaign started in East China Sea Friday to put fishing operation in order and protect the ocean environment.
The campaign, launched by the oceanic and fishery bureau and the maritime supervision team of east China's
Zhejiang
Province, will last for over 10 days.
Patrol ships and planes will be dispatched to the sea areas. The campaign will focus on cracking down on illegal activities on ocean such as fishing out of regulations and contaminating the sea.
The campaign is initiated just before the summer fishing ban in the East China Sea. China began to implement a fishing ban during the summer in the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea in 1995, which has proven to be effective in protecting fishing resources and marine life.
