Fifth China Folk Art Festival to Be Held in Hubei

The 5th China folk art festival will be held in Jingmen City in central China's Hubei Province from October 4.

The five-day festival is a biennial event and will be sponsored by the Jingmen city government, with the auspices of the China Folk Artists Association.

The previous four festivals were held in Dalian in Liaoning Province, Taiyuan in Shanxi Province, Mentougou in Beijing and Wuxi in Jiangsu Province.

During the festival, 15 art and folk art troupes, including more than 700 folk artists and art workers, will be invited from across the country to give performances or to participate in competitions.

Two kinds of prizes, the "Mountain Flower Prize" for folk art and the "First Prize for Academic Works" will be handed out at the festival.
