China Provides Flood Information Service to Vietnam

China began Friday providing a flood information service to Vietnam for the next four months.

According to an understanding memo signed by both the Chinese and Vietnamese governments, the information will cover three areas, namely rainfall, the position of water and the volume of water.

The information, to be released by four hydrological stations near the Yuanjiang River in southwest China's Yunnan Province, will promote the good relationship between two countries.

The Yuanjiang River originates from Yunnan and flows through Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. All the information about the river will be helpful for combating floods.
