Strong China Benefits Regional Peace, Stability: Hun Sen

Prime Minister Hun Sen said that the developing countries would like to see China become stronger because it is beneficial to peace and stability of the region, Minister of Council Sok An said Thursday.

The Cambodian premier made the remark at an international seminar on policies of major countries towards Asia and their impacts on the Asian countries, Sok An told reporters upon his arrival after concluding a 2-day international meeting on aid for Cambodia held in Tokyo.

Hun Sen said that the developing countries are not afraid of a stronger China. Rather, they thought that the development of China would contribute to the peace and stability of the region and the world as well, according to Sok An.
