Over 730 Russian Interior Ministry Troops Killed in Chechnya

A total of 738 Russian Interior Ministry troops have been killed and 2,560 others wounded since the beginning of the anti-terrorist operation in Chechnya on October 1, 1999.

The figures were released by Lieutenant General Stanislav Kavun, deputy commander-in-chief of the Interior Ministry troops, at a news conference here on Thursday.

Kavun said that among the killed, 202 were contract servicemen.
