Northeastern Province to Enhance Cooperation With Russia

Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, a major grain producer sharing long border lines with Russia, will expand technical cooperation with Russia in agriculture and environmental protection.

Relevant departments of the province are considering inviting Russian agricultural scientists to transfer technologies like disastrous weather forecasts, biological breeding and mechanical spray for plant protection.

The technology transfer is expected to help upgrade the quality of cereal products in the province, which will increase their competitiveness in the market.

Experts believe that it is proper for Heilongjiang to introduce advanced agricultural technologies from Russia since they are identical in both weather and natural conditions.

It is learned that a foreign economic and trade cooperation fair will be held on June 15 in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province. Over 80 scientists from Russia and other members of the Commonwealth of Independent States will participate, bringing more than 300 new technologies.
