Scholarship Established to Award Chinese Economic Journalists

A new scholarship has been established to award economic journalists in China according to an announcement Thursday jointly made by Journalism School of People' s University of China and Citigroup.

Aiming to promote professional economic news reports and education, the scholarship will go to the best reporters of enterprises' investment news and individual consuming news every year.

The appraisal committee is comprised of professors and senior journalists from the circles of education, journalism and industry.

Any publicly released economic news stories from September 1, 2000 to August 31, 2001 can be submitted. The first prize winners will be able to go to Columbia University for two-weeks of training in journalism early next year under the assistance of Citigroup.

The Citigroup has collaborated with more than 30 countries and regions to establish the similar scholarship for highly recognized economic news reporters.
