Photo Exhibition to Mark 80th Anniversary of CPC's BirthA batch of important cultural relics, including the handgun used by Zhu De, late Commander-in- Chief of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), in the Nanchang Uprising in 1927, are to be displayed in Beijing-based China Revolutionary Museum from June 20 to July 20.Titled "Shouldering People's Hopes", the exhibition marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which falls on July 1st. More than 1,500 rare photos and over 400 cultural relics on display are expected to represent different historical periods of the CPC, organizers said here this morning at a press conference. The exhibition, the largest ever in the CPC's history, is expected to attract more than one million visitors, according to official sources. Other cultural relics on display include the first red flag raised at Tian'anmen Square at the founding ceremony of the people 's republic, and China's first self-designed and self-manufactured "Liberation" brand automobile. The exhibition primarily includes three parts: from the early 1900s to the year 1949 when CPC members dedicated themselves to national independence and people's liberation; from 1949 to 1976 when Chinese people were looking for a socialist route after the birth of the New China; from the late 1970s to the present during which China chose the reform and opening-up drive and is building a socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics. Organizers of the exhibition include the CPC Central Committee' s Organization Department, the CPC Central Committee's Publicity Department and the Ministry of Culture.
