Zhejiang Investment and Trade Fair Closes

The third investment and trade fair in Zhejiang Province, east China, closed Wednesday in Ningbo, port city with the signing of 451 contracts involving a total investment of 4.61 billion U.S. dollars.

The total contractual volume of foreign investment was 2.52 billion U.S. dollars.

These contracts were signed between Zhejiang and businesspeople from the United States, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Taiwan and other countries and regions worldwide. Fields of investment covered infrastructure facilities, machinery, electronics, information, chemicals and medicines, light textiles, agriculture and tourism.

During the six-day event, business people from Taiwan signed 106 investment contracts with Zhejiang, involving a total investment of 660 million U.S. dollars, according to the organizing committee of the fair.

Development zones of Zhejiang Province became a big attraction to foreign investors, who signed 158 contracts with a total investment of 2.18 billion U.S. dollars and a contractual volume of 1.4 billion U.S. dollars in foreign capital.

Zhejiang also arranged a group of activities which are aimed at introducing foreign personnel and Chinese who are studying abroad.

During the fair, a total of 399 letters of intent on introducing foreign talents were signed, 28 agreements on scientific and technological cooperation were reached and 1,511 people signed employment agreements.
