HK to Have Over 100,000 City Flower Trees

Hong Kong will plant 24,000 Bauhinia this year, to boost the total number of the city flower trees to more than 100,000, a Hong Kong official said Wednesday.

More than 80,000 Bauhinia have been planted throughout Hong Kong in the past two years, said acting Deputy Director of Home Affairs Grace Lui at the plaque unveiling ceremony of Bauhinia Garden cum Bauhinia planting activity at Lantau Link View Point in Kwai Tsing.

The Bauhinia Garden at Lantau Link View Point, which has more than 1,500 Bauhinia and 6,000 Azalea, is one of the 38 major Bauhinia Gardens in Hong Kong.
