Nortel Invests to Expand GSM Capacity in Chongqing

The world's leading IT company, Nortel Networks, signed a contract on Tuesday to increase its investment by 30 million US dollars, expanding the GSM network capacity of Chongqing Unicom.

The expanded network will go into operation in August when subscribers to the Chongqing Branch of China Unicom, a key rival of China Telcom, will grow by 400,000, a company source said.
