Hong Kong, Beijing to Host World Productivity Congress
Hong Kong and Beijing will play host to the XIIth World Productivity Congress (WPC) 2001 on November 5-8 and November 9-10 2001 respectively, announced the Congress International Steering Committee Wednesday.
With the theme of "Creating Wealth in the Connected Economy," the biennial event will focus on the topics of Cultivating Innovation, e-Enterprise Transformation, Green Productivity, China 's Accession to WTO and Best Around the World.
Speaking at the press conference, Kenneth Fang, co-chairman of XIIth WPC International Steering Committee and chairman of Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), said the congress is expected to attract more than 1,500 delegates from over 40 countries, including government officials, business policy makers, industrialists, academics and productivity experts, to Hong Kong and Beijing.
As special plenary keynote speakers, George H W Bush, former U. S. president and Supachai Panitchpakdi, director-general designate of the WTO will address the congress.
The XIIth WPC is jointly organized by the HKPC, the Chinese Association of Productivity Science and the China Productivity Centers Association.
