Jiangsu Girl Receives Marrow from a Taiwan DonatorIt is reported that over 500 TV personnel from China's mainland, Taiwan province and Hong Kong SAR will participate in this live broadcast, with advanced equipment including three rented international communications satellites, five special vehicles for satellite live broadcast and two for digital rebroadcast. So far, all work and equipment are in well working order for this live broadcast after several times of experimentation. Principal of a TV station said, that to make a 20-hour live broadcast is not only to show the deep affection between the compatriots across the Taiwan Straits, but also to call on more people to contribute their bone marrow. The only possible difficulty for this live broadcast and operation is whether the bone marrow can be successfully transported by plane from Taiwan to China's mainland via Hong Kong. As reported, altogether 70 patients in China's mainland have received the transplantation of bone marrow from their compatriots in Taiwan and Chen Xia is the 71st lucky one. In terms of the international practice, the identity files of the 26-year Taiwan donator can only be made known to public one-year later after Chen Xia's operation.
