144 Illegal Migrants Captured on Mexican Border with US
The Mexican army have captured 144 illegal migrants in the Mexican state of Chihuahua bordering the United States, press reports said Tuesday.
The illegal migrants, 120 men and 24 women, were found and captured on Monday in the Palomas-Berrendo desert corridor where they were waiting for a guide to enter U.S. territory.
Most of them come from Central American countries and some from two Asian countries,
In the first five months of this year, Mexico deported more than 35,000 illegal aliens, mostly Central Americans.
The increase in the number of Central American illegal migrants is widely believed to be a consequence of the economic crisis in the region.
