Philippines Finds Two Bodies After Reported Beheading of US Hostage
The corpses of two murdered Filipinos were found in an area where Abu Sayyaf rebels said they had dumped an American hostage after beheading him, the Philippines government said Wednesday.
One of the two bodies was decapitated, a grisly trademark form of murder for the notorious Muslim guerrillas.
National Security Adviser Roilo Golez said the victims were both Filipinos and neither body was that of Californian Guillermo Sobero.
However the fate of Sobero was still unclear with authorities unable to say if he had been killed as claimed.
