Sino-Belgian Stamp Show Opens in East China City

Sino-Belgian Stamp Show Opens in East China City
A Sino-Belgian stamp show opened Tuesday in this capital of Jiangxi Province to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The exhibition will also aim to support Beijing's bid for the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2001 China Philatelic Exposition and to enhance understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

The postal administration of China and Belgium jointly issued one set of two stamps, namely color glazed Chinese Pottery and Belgium's Porcelain Pot, which was originally made in China for exclusive export to Europe in the 18th century.

There are 54 sets of stamps on display in 251 standard exhibit frames during the two-day exhibition, the largest of its kind ever held in the province.

The stamps feature the two countries' postal history, technological developments, architecture, landscape and people's life.
