Shanghai to Collect Tourism Slogans and Logos

Shanghai has for the first time begun to collect tourism slogans and logos from both at home and abroad.

Shanghai is approaching toward an international metropolis, and in the process of building the city into a popular tourist destination, it needs adorable tourism slogans and logos featuring Shanghai's characteristics.

By public bidding, Shanghai can raise its reputation and awareness both at home and abroad. It is also a great move to make Shanghai felt in international tourism market.

Slogans and logos to be collected should meet following requirements: they should reflect Shanghai's tourism image, characteristics and advantages as an international metropolis with amazing, fascinating, evoking and inspiring power. Slogans should be in two versions of Chinese and English and for the Chinese no more than 10 characters and for English just a short sentence of words readable, easy to remember and suggesting a sense of beauty. Logos should be recognized and understood by peoples from different cultures and of clear designs and not too much relished with colors. The size of the logo should be limited to 10 cms in square with colored and white & black prints attached with captions.

The collecting of slogans and logos began on June 11 and will end at August 5. The collected works can be mailed to Rm.301, Jin'an Apartment Bldg 3, Lane 340, Yanping Road, Shanghai 200042, and bidders are requested to give an address for connection.

Related departments will make an appraisal of the works collected, and the result will be made known during the Shanghai Tourism Festival in September.
