Chinese, Australian Cities Seek Cooperation

Dalian, a port city in north China's Liaoning Province, has reached an agreement on cooperation with Adelaide city of Australia.

Dalian Mayor Li Yongjin and Adelaide Mayor Alfred Huang signed the agreement on behalf of their respective cities, to pave way for the formal establishment of a sister-city relationship.

As capital of the South Australian State, Adelaide sent a 28- member delegation to Dalian in May to seek cooperation in the economic, trade, and educational fields.

Huang said he believes that there are broad prospects for cooperation between the two cities as they have much in common in city planning, climate, and environment.

Members of the delegation, the first ever sent by Adelaide, were impressed by the great changes taking place in Dalian, said Huang.
