Taliban Claim Recapturing Lost District from Opposition

Afghanistan's Taliban militia on Sunday recaptured Yakawalang district of Bamiyan province, according to a report by the Taliban-run Bakhtar News Agency.

The Taliban forces, led by Mulla Allahdad, launched the offensive at 10.30 a.m. and captured the district by 1.30 p.m. The Taliban forces used heavy weapons and helicopters, which bombed surrounding hilltops, occupied by the opposition, said the report.

It said during the fighting, 50 opposition soldiers were killed and 60 others arrested by the Taliban forces.
