Beijing to Set Up 10 Recycling Yards

Beijing will set up 10 waste recycling yards in the area between the Fourth and Fifth Ring Roads by 2003, according to sources with the municipal Urban Planning Meeting.

Each of the yards will have a floor space of 30,000 square meters, which will be used for the sorting and processing of reusable waste, such as packing paper, used plastic, scrap and glass.

So far, Beijing has had almost 300 recycling stations in five city districts.
