Chinese Pair Jiang/Chen Pull out of Women's Doubles Semifinals
Chinese pair Jiang Xuelian and Chen Lin were forced to withdraw from the women's doubles semifinal of the world badminton championships after Jiang was injured during Friday's quarterfinal, it was announced Saturday in Seville.
Jiang sustained an ankle injury in their 1-15, 15-3, 15-7 win over second seed Rikke Olsen and Helene Kirkegaard of
Denmark
.
Their withdrawal sent rivals Huang Sui and Gao Ling to the finals, where they will meet winners of the other semifinal between Zhang Jiewen/Wei Yili of China and Ra Kyung Min/Lee Kyung Won of South Korea.
