MOFTEC Reception Welcomes APEC Mart Delegates

China's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) hosted a reception in Yantai Saturday evening to welcome the delegates of the Second APEC Investment Mart.

MOFTEC Minister Shi Guangsheng attended the reception, and MOFTEC Chief Negotiator Long Yongtu delivered a speech.

APEC has pushed forward the process of regional trade and investment liberalization and facilitation and promoted economic and technological cooperation among the members since it was established in 1989.

The mart represents another concrete move to achieve the goals set forth by the leaders of APEC member economies following the APEC Meeting of Ministers' Responsible for Trade concluded recently in Shanghai, Long said.

He called on all APEC members to take advantage of the Yantai mart to promote exchange and cooperation.

Jenny Shipley, former New Zealand prime minister, attended the reception.
