Bank to Build Modern Payment System for College Campuses

The China Construction Bank (CCB) and the Educational Management Information Center under the Ministry of Education signed an agreement Friday on facilitating college campuses with the Dragon Card system.

According to the agreement, the two sides will draw on their cooperative experience at Qinghua University, Yangzhou University and some other campuses over the past few years, to link various payments and settlements in campuses with the CCB's social financial services.

A spokesman for the CCB said that in the coming few years over 100 college campuses will be able to enjoy modern financial services through the bank's Dragon Card system, including banking card services, wage commissioning, settlements, credit and other services.

He said that by the end of March, the CCB had issued a total of 81.4 million Dragon cards, ranking first among China's four top commercial banks. It has also developed up to 60,000 representative branches and installed more than 6,700 ATMs.
