German-invested Latex Project Starts Operation in Shanghai

An acrylic latex project with an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons and funded by German petrochemical giant BASF has been put into operation in Shanghai.

BASF is ranked in the world top 500 companies. Acrylic latex, the company's latest product, is an environment-friendly material for the production of emulsions.

The products of the project are mainly for the domestic market, but exports to other Asian regions are expected eventually, when the factory's capacity is likely to be doubled to meet the demand, sources said.
