China's Women to Play in USA Cup
China's Women's National Team will be in action in the USA Cup to be held in the United States during September 2001.
The announcement was made by the US Soccer Association who have also invited Germany, Japan and of course the hosts USA.
This will be the first time that the China's women's side has gone to the US to take on their American counterparts since the USA beat them after a shoot-out in the 1999 World Cup.
In the opening match on September 7, Japan will take on Germany. Two days later, the hosts will play Germany, while China meet Japan. On September 16, China and the US will play the last match of the tournament in Kansas.
The hosts have won the USA Cup in each of the past seven years.
