Earthquake Jolts Southwest China
An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted Shidian prefecture in western
Yunnan
Province, southwest China, at 02:03 (
Beijing
Time) Friday, according to the China Seismological Bureau.
The epicenter is located at 24.8 degrees north latitude and 99. 1 degrees east longitude, the bureau said earlier Friday morning.
There is no information available about casualties and damage caused by the tremor.
