China Adopts Regulation on Dismantling Urban Houses
China approved a revised regulation on dismantling and relocating urban houses Wednesday.
The regulation was examined and passed in principle at the 40th executive meeting of the State Council, presided over by Premier Zhu Rongji.
The existing regulation, implemented on June 1 1991, played an active role in strengthening the management of resettlement of urban dwellers, maintaining the lawful rights and interests of households and ensuring smooth construction of projects.
However, the regulation needs to be revised to adapt to the resettlement of urban residents in the wake of further reform and market economy.
