Internet Expo in HK to Focus on Wireless, ASP Tech
The fifth Internet Commerce Expo & Conference Hong Kong 2001 to be held later this month will focus on wireless and ASP (application service provider) technology, said the expo's organizer in Hong Kong Tuesday.
"The global demand of applications and solutions for ASP and wireless communications markets is growing tremendously," said Gary Fung, managing director of IDG World Expo (Asia) Ltd., the organizer.
The on-line voting for e-finance service awards will be launched during the event to be held from June 28 to 30 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center to encourage the most effective and innovative use of technology in the financial institutions.
Last year, the Securities & Futures Commission of Hong Kong recorded a 13-fold growth in the volume of online stock trading in Hong Kong.
"It is expected that almost 50 percent of the stockbrokers in Hong Kong will go online this year," Fung said
