Colombian Vice-president Visits East China Province

Colombian Vice-President Gustavo Bell Lemus has visited east China's Jiangsu Province over the past two days.

On Monday, Provincial Governor Ji Yunshi met Bell, saying that Jiangsu's trade with Colombia has grown rapidly in recent years. The trade volume in the first four months of this year totaled 9.3 million U.S. dollars-worth.

Ji said Jiangsu plans to set up a trade promotion center in Colombia.

Bell said his impression of China's achievements deepened after his visit to Jiangsu.

He also attended a signing ceremony for Colombia's Atlantico and Jiangsu to become sister provinces, and Barranquilla and Nanjing to become sister cities.

Bell arrived in Jiangsu Sunday after he completed his visit to Shanghai Sunday.

Accompanied by Chinese Ambassador to Colombia Ju Yijie, Bell visited an industrial park, an ancient town, an embroidery research center and a garden in the city of Suzhou Sunday.

Bell and his entourage arrived in Nanjing Monday morning, and visited the Jincheng Group and a museum.
