MP Manufacturers United up for Joint Development

A summit forum was jointly launched June 1 in Beijing by 17 Chinese mobile phone manufacturers, as the first and largest line-up of forces for joint development in China.

The 17 MP manufacturers are Bird (http://www.chinabird.com/), DTT (http://www.dtt.com.cn/english/index.html ), Eastcom (http://www.eastcom.com/), Haier, Konka, Kejian (http://www.kejian.com.cn/), Legend, Soutec (http://www.soutec.com/), Capital (http://www.btef.com.cn/), Prima (http://www.xoceco.com.cn/ ), Amoisonic (http://www.amoisonic.com/), Panda (http://www.chinapanda.com.cn/), China Electronic Appliance, CEC (http://www.cectelecom.com/cec/default.asp), CEC R&D Center, PTIC (http://www.ptic.com.cn/) and ZTE (http://www.zhongxing.com/).

The form is to be in the way a common cause is to be made by the 17 Chinese MP manufacturers to cope with a highly competitive market in China, in advertising, purchase of equipment, developing key R&D technology, product sale and after service. As is envisaged by the 17 MP manufacturers, a 50 percent market share instead of today's 10 will have to be targeted by the MP line-up in China in coming five years.
