PNG Prime Minister Visits ShanghaiShanghai Mayor Xu Kuangdi met Friday in Shanghai with Mekere Morauta, visiting Prime Minister of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea (PNG).Xu briefed the guests on the economic and social achievement in Shanghai since the early 1990s as well as the main issues that the Shanghai Municipality is trying to tackle. Morauta appreciated the rapid progress and changes taken place in Shanghai in recent years, hoping that PNG and Shanghai could strengthen cooperation in economy, energy and tourism. Morauta arrived here Friday morning after he finished his visit in Fuzhou, capital city of east China's Fujian Province. He also toured Shanghai Stock Exchange and Oriental Peal Tower Friday afternoon. |
