China will host the 2001 China Philately Exhibition in Nanjing in east China's Jiangsu Province from September 21 to 25 this year.
Jointly sponsored by the State Post Administration and the local government of Jiangsu province, the exhibition is the first national philately exhibition in the country in the new century.
During the five-day event, 1,200 groups of stamps from 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions will be exhibited.
Besides showing philatelic items, the sponsors will launch other activities, such as exhibitions on telephone cards and coins, and on the history of mobile telecommunications in the city.
