DPRK Condemns US for Wrecking World Peace

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) accused the United States Wednesday of sparking an arms race in Asia and wrecking world peace, said the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) in an editorial.

Some US officials said recently that Washington was ready to cooperate with Japan in exercising the latter's right to collective self-defense even by revising its constitution, said the article.

The remarks show that the U.S. attempt to turn Japan into a military power and use it as a shock brigade in executing US strategy for world domination, the article said.

The Japanese right-wing forces are now trying to formally upgrade the "self-defense forces" to an army and rewrite the current constitution," so as to lay legal foundations for overseas aggression, it said.

In consideration of Japan's past and its present political and military tendency, it would be dangerous for Asia if Japan were allowed to have regular armed forces and "exercise the right to collective self-defense, the article warned.

The Unite States is resuming the old trick previously used during the Korean War, when Washington rearmed Japan and used many Japanese servicemen as a shock brigade for aggression, it said.

Meanwhile, the article pointed out that Japan's attempts to re- emerge as a military power and realize militarization are far from beneficial to the United States itself.
