Launch of .com for Chinese Domain Name to be Put Off for 3 Weeks

Versign/NSI, the world's largest company engaging in management of .com domain name, announced to postpone for three weeks the launch of .com for Chinese domain name formerly scheduled on May 30, namely, it is temporarily rescheduled to open to global clients on June 16.

As insider pointed out since the former date is a bit too rush and even if it is opened it's impossible to cater to the needs for immediate use of Chinese domain name. So three-week postponement will be helpful for the improvement and accomplishment of the whole preparatory work.

He also noted that since the announcement of opening .com Chinese domain name every day sees hundreds of applications for registration of Chinese domain name coming to us. It's an indication that it enjoys a great market potential and is probably to lead the development of the Internet domain name in the society of Chinese people in future.
