International Gardening Fair Attracts Participants

A total of 105 Chinese and overseas companies and organizations have applied for attending the China international gardening and flower fair to be held in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, from October 1 to November 28.

The fair, the fourth of its kind, will be sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Construction. The previous three fairs were held in Dalian, Nanjing and Shanghai.

According to the organizers, the fair will feature the themes of "ecology and environment for human habitat --forested mountains, clear water, blue sky and city with flowers".

During the fair, a wide range of activities will be organized, including academic forums, contests in outdoor gardening, flowers, ikebana or the art of arranging flowers, potted flowers, rare stones and ornamental plants.

The fair is to advocate an environmental and ecological balance for human habitat by promoting a perfect harmony between mankind and nature, and to value the role of gardening in improving ecological environment in cities.
