A two-way satellite transmission concert was held synchronously in China's Shanghai and France's Paris on May 27.

At 2:30 p.m. (Paris Time), the National Orchestra of France struck up the music of Chinese dance "Prelude to the Spring Festival" in the Grand Theater of Champs-Elysees, thus raising the curtain of the concert held jointly by Shanghai TV Station of China and the Television France 1 (TF1). And at that moment, it was already 8:30 p.m. at local time in Shanghai.

While enjoying the violin concerto "Liang (Shanbo) Zhu (Yingtai)" in the theater, audiences of Paris could see on the Ballet dancers of Shanghai dancing to the music transmitted from France through satellite. Therefore, such a kind of synchronic two-way concert had not only brought the French audience a brand-new and fresh arts performance, but also made them feel that Paris and Shanghai had been drawn together.

It's reported that this was the first time that the two countries jointly conducted the two-way satellite transmission of TV programs and China's theatrical TV items entered numerous European households through main French media.
