Another Expedition to Mount Qomolangma by Chinese Scientists

Chinese scientists on May 28 began another expedition to Mount Qomolangma for scientific research. It is another scientific inspection after last year's monitor to the Mount Qomolangma and Himalayan Mountains and the expedition will continue till June 15.  

Artificial Limbs Installed Free of Charge for Handicapped in Fujian

Lately,58 disabled persons from Fuzhou, Fujian Province, were installed artificial limbs free of charge, becoming the first batch of beneficiaries of the ��Salvation Project with Love��, which was launched jointly by the Department of Civil Affairs of Fujian Province and Fujian Welfare Lottery-issuing Center, artificial limbs will also be fixed for 1,000 handicapped people in the province this year. Cross-Straits Abacus Communication Contest Held in Zhengzhou

The 10th Cross-Straits Abacus Communication Contest, co-sponsored by the Chinese Abacus Association and the Chamber of Commerce of Taiwan Province, was held on May 27 in 29 venues in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. Over 5,400 preschool children took part in this traditional contest.

Shanghai and Paris Hold Two-way Satellite Transmission Concert

A two-way satellite transmission concert was held synchronously in China's Shanghai and France's Paris on May 27. It's reported that this was the first time that the two countries jointly conducted the two-way satellite transmission of TV programs and China's theatrical TV items entered numerous European households through main French media.
