Chinese Chefs Festival Kicked off in Xi'an
May 26 saw the opening of the 11th Chinese Chefs Festival in Xi'an, capital of
Shaanxi
Province. More than 800 representatives from 25 provinces, autonomous regions, prefectures and
Hong Kong
SAR and 6000-odd others were present at this gala. Among the participants were also included those from the American Counterparts Association.
On the evening of May 25, the opening ceremony was staged at the Nanmen Square. Chefs who took part in the event marched into the scene in a procession recalling the distant past of ancient Tang (618-907)
The Chefs Festival were held under the theme of "Reputed Chefs and Innovated Skills". China's New Era Food Industry Summit Forum will be held during the festival. Master chefs will give performance and lectures on delicious cuisine.
It is reported "Chinese Cuisine Square" will be set up in Xi'an Stadium.
