Liu Ailing Scores Twice as Philadelphia Beat Breakers 3-2

Chinese midfielder Liu Ailing scored her first two goals of the season, lifting the Philadelphia Charge to a 3-2 away victory over the Boston Breakers on Sunday.

The victory put the Charge in second place with 11 points and trailed only the Washington Freedom who defeated the New York Power tonight, and Liu Ailing was named the Player of the Game.

Dagny Mellgren had another excellent game for Boston, breaking the ice quickly with a goal in the second minute off a nice through pass from Kristine Lilly with 80 seconds into the game.

It was the second straight match that the Charge fell behind 1- 0 in the second minute of the play when Cindy Parlow scored an early goal for Atlanta before the Charge conceded its defeat on Thursday.

But this time witnessed the Chinese Liu who came alive with her first goal in the 37th minute and her second in the 77th minute, which put the Charge ahead 2-1 before Maren Meinert tied the game in the 81st minute with her third goal of the season.

Yet, only two minutes later, midfielder Laurie Schwoy connected the game-winner from a corner kick off Michelle Demko.
