Taliban Blame US, Russia Responsible for Miseries of Afghans

Afghanistan's Taliban militia has said that the United States and Russia are responsible for the miseries of Afghans, adding that the "so-called human rights champions have great contribution to the human tragedy", according to a news dispatch reaching Islamabad Sunday.

While reacting to a U.S.-Russia joint statement which described Taliban as a threat to regional stability, the spokesman of Afghan Foreign Ministry, Faiz Ahmed Faiz says in a radio program that Washington and Moscow have once again tried to cover their crimes by leveling baseless allegations against Afghanistan.

"The U.S. has a major role in the miseries of the people of Palestine and Afghanistan for its cooperation with the Israel and imposing sanction on the Afghans. We do not understand that where and what kind of human rights are being safeguarded by these so- called champions of human rights? Are not the people of Afghanistan, Chechen and Palestine human being? Have Russians and Americans not a role in the miseries of these nations?" he said.

He added that Russians have unleashed malicious propaganda against the Taliban to regain their influence in Central Asia and region, seek world community attention and keep their people busy.

He said that all the nationalities enjoy equal rights and government is equally treating all without any ethnic, linguistic and communal discrimination. He asked the foreign journalists to pay heed to objective reporting in Afghanistan and depict the true picture of what is going on in Afghanistan.
