UNIDO, Chinese Province to Jointly Develop Hi-tech Park
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the government of south China's Hunan Province signed a memorandum of understanding Sunday with a view to jointly developing a bio-pharmaceutical industrial park in the province.
The visiting UNIDO experts, headed by deputy director-general Yo Maruno, are in Hunan on an investigation tour at the invitation of the Hunan provincial government.
As the first project jointly launched by UNIDO and Chinese governmental organizations, the industrial park is to be built in the city of Liuyang in Hunan.
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization was established in 1966 to promote and accelerate industrial development in developing countries.
